Death, love, heartbreak, flashbacks, body switches, resurrections – a lot has happened in 100 episodes of The Vampire Diaries.
When the CW series premiered in September 2009, viewers were introduced to protagonist Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), a journal-writing high school teen who had just lost her parents. Soon she fell for Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), who she thought was the brooding new guy in school. In reality, he was a century-old vampire captivated by her, a girl who looked exactly like his one-time love, Katherine Pierce (Dobrev), who is also a vampire. Stefan had also just returned from his hometown of Mystic Falls where he reunited with his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) after spending decades away.

Five seasons later — and hitting their milestone 100th episode — Somerhalder, Wesley, Dobrev along with fellow original costars Candice Accola and Kat Graham, reflect on their favorite episodes, favorite kills, saddest deaths and most fun flashbacks. Check out Part 1 with the Salvatore Brothers.
There’s nothing we love more than a good bromance. And lucky for us, there’s an ongoing bromance between Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. The two Vampire Diaries hunks are always goofing around, playing pranks on each other, or, you know, singing “Ice Ice Baby.” But be prepared, this bromance is soaring to a whole other level.
“If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have 3 things with you, what would they be?” a fan asked Ian on his Mobio INsider page. We’re so glad someone is finally asking Paul the hard-hitting questions. We ourselves have been pondering this exact question as of late.
Paul’s response was equally as amusing as the question, and he delivered it with his signature sass. “A knife, a boat, and Ian Somerhalder,” he answered. We have to hand it to Paul, that’s a pretty good answer.
Not only will he have a knife to defend himself and hunt down food on this deserted island, but he would have a boat to get around. Obviously by choosing Ian as one of his three things, he is ensuring he always has someone to cuddle up with on those cold, rainy nights. Plus, we are sure these two would be able to combine their brain power and find a way back home!

Now that neither Damon (Ian Somerhalder) nor Stefan (Paul Wesley) is dating Elena (Nina Dobrev), The Vampire Diaries’s all-important love triangle is more like a line. But don’t get your hopes up! Previously heartbroken Stefan is there to give his big brother some advice on what to do next. The only question in: What is it?
TVD executive producer Caroline Dries talked to TVLine about the Delena breakup aftermath. Apparently, Season 5, Episode 11 (“500 Years of Solitude”) — aka the 100th episode — will pick up where Season 5, Episode 10 (“Fifty Shades of Grayson”) ended. “The fun of the 100th episode is we pick up the day after this happened. We see how they’re both handling it. It’s a fun introduction to the show.”
The episode will also feature some advice-giving from one brother to another. “Going forward, the 100th episode will revisit this fight that they had, this break-up, and [Damon]’s going to get some good brotherly advice that will push him in the right direction,” Caroline teased.
What might that brotherly advice might be? Well, according to Caroline, “Damon’s fear is, ‘What if I end up changing her? What if I make her bad?’ Stefan is good. Stefan’s knee-jerk reaction is to do the heroic thing. He can take care of Elena and influence her in the right ways. Elena is a strong female character, so she has a mind of her and her own moral compass. [Enzo is] starting to get into [Damon’s] head. So he’s starting to think, ‘What if I change her?’ That’s why he made his decision.”
Will Stefan set Damon straight? As much as Stefan misses Elena, he’s always wanted what’s best for both she and his big brother. We can’t help but think that, when put in the position to give Damon some advice, he’ll suggest the action that makes the people he loves happiest: i.e. getting back together. And Stefan might just be the only person Damon will listen to. Not only does he trust his brother, but if anyone has reason to want Delena apart, it’s Stefan, who is arguably still in love with Elena.
Creation Entertainment is hosting their annual Vampire Diaries fan convention in Orlando, Florida this weekend (December 14 – 15). Both days, TVD stars appeared in live Q&A panels, took photos with fans and signed autographs. Fans also enjoyed trivia, live competitions and shows. Sunday’s events kicked off with a TVD Orlando Gold Panel with the sexy Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Lucky fans got an extra 30 minutes with TVD’s hunky leading men. Here’s a little of what he had to say and a few photos.
• Most beautiful place Ian has ever been: TVD Orlando and Paul’s bedrooms, Paul’s is the Greek islands.
• Least favorite flashback hair: Paul – Silas’ Greek god hair. Ian – 80?s Damon.
• Paul said when he was filming Silas in Greek robe, he was just waiting for a Marilyn Monroe moment.
• Ian would tell Damon to get out of Mystic Falls and find another woman. Elena is too difficult.
• Q:”Who loves Elena more, Damon or Stefan?” Ian:”I think Damon definitely loves her more.”
• Ian’s favorite Christmas moment is when he was born in a manger and Paul gave birth to him 2,000 years ago.
• Ian said he just loves Christmas with his niece and nephew and Paul likes to go to the mountains for Christmas.
• If Paul could compel anyone, he would compel writers to give Stefan more babes.
• Ian would compel the president to start doing shit right. Paul: “If you (Ian) become the president of the United States I would move to Canada.” Haha!
• Ian and Paul tell each they loved each other. Awwe.
• Ian was asked if he would date an ISF member. He said no because he never dates people he works with. Then the fan said except once…and Ian says actually twice.
• Paul says he and Ian had a physical relationship.
• Ian says Damon and Stefan are really fucked up.
• Paul’s has a brace on his hand and said he had to get an MRI.
